Fire hazard forces Toshiba laptop recall

Toshiba Corp. is recalling 41,000 Satellite model laptop computers worldwide out of concern they pose a burn hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.?The notebook computers can overheat at the notebook's plug-in to the AC adapter, posing a burn hazard to consumers,? the safety commission said Thursday.The voluntary recall involves Toshiba?s Satellite T135, Satellite T135D and Satellite ProT130 models.  The name ?Toshiba" is printed on the top of the computer, while the model name and number are printed on a label on the bottom, the commission said.Toshiba has received 129 reports of the computers overheating and deforming the plastic casing area around the AC adapter plug.  This includes two reports of minor burn injuries that did not require medical attention and two reports of minor property damage.The commission said consumers should immediately download the latest version of Toshiba's BIOS computer program to their laptop computer at http://laptops.toshiba.com/about/consumer-notices.
